About HEF
**Hockey Emergency Fund: Supporting the Twin Cities Hockey Community**
Established in 2024 by Youth Hockey Hub, the Hockey Emergency Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Twin Cities metro area’s hockey community. Our grant-based program provides financial assistance to players, coaches, officials, and families facing unforeseen hardships, ensuring they can remain active in the sport they love.
Our Mission
We believe hockey is more than a game—it’s a community that fosters teamwork, resilience, and growth. Our mission is to remove financial barriers by offering grants for essential costs like equipment, registration, and travel, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can participate, regardless of their circumstances.
What We Do
Life’s challenges—medical, financial, or personal—can threaten involvement in hockey. We respond with compassion and efficiency, providing:
- **Financial Grants:** Covering registration, equipment, and other participation costs.
- **Community Support:** Building a network for connection and solidarity during tough times.
- **Resource Access:** Ensuring all hockey community members have the tools to stay involved.
Our Values
- **Compassion:** We listen with empathy and prioritize those we serve.
- **Transparency:** We operate with integrity and clear communication.
- **Responsiveness:** We act swiftly to address urgent needs.
Why It Matters
Hockey transforms lives by offering belonging, life skills, and a safe space for growth. We ensure financial challenges don’t take that away.
